Cribs (260)

Cribs available in today’s market must comply with mandatory safety standards in order to ensure proper security regulations. The space between each slat should be 2 3/8” apart to avoid the risk of a child’s head getting stuck in between them. Furthermore, your child’s crib should have an adjustable railing that can be raised and lowered to easily remove and place your baby in and out of the crib.

Additionally, make sure that your crib has a secure dropside locking mechanism for when the sides are raised and lowered. When dropsides are lowered, they must be at least 9” above the support mattress. Conversely, when raised they should be 26” above the mattress support. The crib mattress should fit cozily in the crib to avoid extra space on either side. Lastly, if you’re using a blanket instead of a sleeper, make sure that your baby is resting with his or feet at the foot of the crib. Use a thin blanket to tuck around the crib mattress and then cover your baby up to his or her chest.
